The NEM Update is an information-gathering process that identified, inventory and reported various airport operations and land uses. The completed NEM Update will be submittal to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for acceptance after the public meeting.
The NEM Update is conducted according to title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 150 “Part 150." Part 150 is a voluntary FAA program that sets guidelines for airport noise compatibility planning. The document provides the current and five-year forecast of aircraft noise exposure levels. “Centennial Airport is committed to airport noise compatibility planning and working closely with the surrounding communities,” said Michael Fronapfel, director of planning and development for Centennial Airport. “We are excited that the study is nearing completion and we were able to utilize our new noise monitoring system.”
