CONSTRUCTION STATUS: TAXILANE N

This project will temporarily impact hangar and ramp access for many tenants on the east side of the airport, as well as transient aircraft. While efforts may be made to accommodate access when practical and safely possible, it is important to plan your operations and activities accordingly. Safety and the efficient flow of aircraft are among our highest priorities.

For assistance or to report a safety concern, please call Airport Operations at 303-877-7307.

Phase THREE of the TXLN N Rehabilitation is set to be completed on Saturday, July 18, and Phase FOUR will begin early morning on Monday, July 20. Phase FOUR is anticipated to last 7 days and should be completed on Saturday, July 25th.

During this phase, Red Hangars 12-16 will have aircraft access, but it may be limited. Construction vehicles working on Phase FOUR may need to pull back in order to give way to aircraft when entering and exiting TXLN N. For this reason, please call Airport Operations at the 24/7 number 303-877-7307 in order to coordinate the movement of construction vehicles BEFORE taxiing. Alternatively, relocation of aircraft during this period may ease complications. Denver jetCenter has kindly offered their assistance. They may be reached at 303-790-4321.

The control strip has passed inspection, and now the project really begins! Please see the revised schedule is below, but please remember that all dates are subject to change. We will do our best to ensure tenants and airport users are notified.

PHASE 1: Now - 7/1

PHASE 2: 7/6 – 7/16

PHASE 3: 7/17 – 7/24

PHASE 4: 7/25 – 8/1

PHASE 5: 8/3 – 8/10

PHASE 6: 8/11 – 8/18

During Phase One (June 17-26), the C1 Run-up Area will be CLOSED. This will help reduce congestion in the area as well as protect the workers. An alternate taxi route is attached. As always, all aircraft should continue to taxi with caution. When driving during this time, we also ask that you please utilize the public roadways in order to travel from the East side of the airport (Areas G and H) to the North side (DJC).

Follow us on social media for construction news and updates.

For more information or to report security or safety concerns, please contact Airport Operations 24/7 at 303-877-7307. (LW/DGS)

Monday
June 22, 2020

The C-1 RUNUP area will be closed, beginning June 22 as construction begins on TAXILANE N. Please use the NORTH or SOUTH RUNUP areas.

RUNUPS are NOT permitted adjacent to C1 because of the limited space and increased traffic on TXLN-C. Runups should be performed at the north or south runup areas, and are not permitted on the ramp.

Since dates are always subject to change, we will send out dates for Phase 2 once we’re within a few days of completing Phase 1.

It's officially underway.

The test strip south of Executive Hangar #2 will begin at 7 a.m., Monday, June 15, and end Wednesday evening June 18. During this time, Executive Hangar 2 will not have aircraft access.

Assuming the test strip is accepted, we anticipate Phase 1 will begin the next morning on June 18 and go until June 27.

During Phase 1 the west end of TXLN-N will be blocked, as shown on the attached maps.

During Phase 1, be aware of construction vehicles traveling north and south between Gate 3 and the construction vehicle lane on the south side of TXLN-N (shown in yellow on the map). Although flaggers will be in place to assist, always remain aware of your surroundings.

Therefore, the taxi route for all TXLN-N tenants (except those located west of Gate 3) will be to taxi east to the east ramp taxilane before proceeding south and then west again on TXLN-N. Aircraft on the north side of TXLN-N should not taxi south between hangar rows. Phase1Aerial

There will be an attendant at Gate 3 for construction traffic, but gate cardholders will still need to swipe their card at the gate.

Also during Phase 1, no runups are permitted adjacent to C1 because of the limited space and increased traffic on TXLN-C. Runups should be performed at the north or south runup areas, and are not permitted on the ramp.

Since dates are always subject to change, we will send out dates for Phase 2 once we’re within a few days of completing Phase 1.

Here is the latest update on the TXLN-N project. It is not unusual for many delays to happen at the beginning of a surface rehab project due to the complexity of mobilization and perfecting the asphalt mix, and that appears to be the case with TXLN-N. The test strip has been pushed back to June 15th at the earliest, although it may be more likely to start on June 22nd. As soon as the start date can be confirmed, we will push that information out immediately. However, we just wanted you to know there has been a delay.

To make sure you are notified before construction begins outside of your hangar, please ensure we have your contact information on file. For questions, please contact Airport Operations 303-877-7307. (DGS)
